What happens when you disconnect

Whenever I work on any vehicle's electrical system, I always make sure that the ignition is off and then I disconnect the negative battery cable. If I disconnect the negative cable on my '06 truck, will this cause the radio or anything else to become inoperative and require it to be reset by the dealer?

Nope,As long as you don't go moving it from one truck to another you'll be fine.

I disconnect my battery also when I'm doing anything electrical.

I used to have a little device that had a cigarette lighter plug on one end and on the other, a 9-volt battery terminal. You plugged it into the lighter and the 9-volt would save your clock setting and other settings while your main battery was disconnected. Nifty little device.
