Some questions about a 3500HD

Hey folks, have a few questions for ya:

 

My dad just bought a 1998 Chevy 3500HD.

 

Its got a CK9 4.63 ratio rear, which is not limited slip. We really want to put limited slip in it, but have no idea where to look for the carrier, as our chevy dealer dosent sell such a thing for a 3500 with that rear.

 

Also, I have been looking for information on the MT1 Transmission, and cant find anything on the net. Any help is greatly appreciated

You are talking about a 3500-HD cab and chassis right? I believe the 3500-HD’s of that era ran the 11” Dana 80 rear axle. Probably your only source for traction aids is to contact Tractech and see what products are available for the Dana 80. If I remember right, the only traction device available is a true Detroit NoSpin locker. Great product but it may be too violent for what you use the truck for.
