New Member, Terrible Problem

ok guys heres the general of it...i was drifting the other day in my truck...99 silverado, 5.3L, only 58k miles...i took a right turn and something in my rear end messed up i think...it felt like extreme wheel hop...i havnt gotten it checked yet im just not driving my truck right now...wen i drove home home it would at rANDOM EITHER TURNING OR ACCELERATING just start to shake the whole truck and it also makes a humming noise in the rear end with my window down...anyone have ideas of wat it is and how much money i could be lookin at to fix it...best and worst case situations...thanks everyone

It's really difficult to guess what is going on. Seen several new trucks eat the spider gears in the differential. But once they go, it's pretty severe and definitely not random.

I would drop the cover and see what you tore up.

Drifting cannot be the easiest thing on the rear end. You must have other mods to get the power to slide around like that. IF you still have the stock rear and if it is the G80 locker it sounds like that is not functioning correctly. The "wheel hop" may be the locker not unlocking causing the inner wheel to "hop" around the corner. Sort of like the "hop" feeling you get, in the front end, turning with 4x4 on dry pavement. Anyway, I have seen lots of drifting videos you guys are crazy.

thanks everyone for their help so far...i want to open it up the only problems are the weather right now and not having any money to put more fluid back in or even for the new seal...keep any ideas coming everyone and thanks once again
