Yeah, Avalanche gonna get naked!

To each his own - I love the cladding, the color is a different matter - nice to be able to replace a quarter panel for less than $100 - hard to beat that at the body shop.

In any event it gives me an instant classic!

IMO the avalanche looks great as is.  The cladding does so much for protection from dings, dents, and scratches.  Look at any vehicle, the cladding protects the area where you normally get blemishes in the paint and body.

Another thought, doesn't this require a front end restyling as well since the bumpers sort of "flow" with the cladding design?

Hey AV owners, isn't it nice to be able to park by other vehicles.  With my 300m I always have to park out in the middle of nowhere so as not to get any door dings.  The Av barely fits in a parking spot but I don't care because no vehicles are tall enough to get past the plastic.

If they could just paint the plastic, everything would be cool.  My family had a red '94 SC2 that was an awesome little car, my parents sold it to me when I got married and I just sold it before I bought my Av. The car has looked great for eight years now because of it's plastic panels.

How many Silverados do you see that are more then a couple years old that still look brand new?  If I wax my truck it will look exactly the same ten years down the road.

I really don't have an opinion on the Ave's looks....but at least they are still keeping the cladding an option.

When they are talking about the Pontiac Bonneville and Grand Prix, do they mean removing the washboard paneling?  If so..........YIPPIE.  I hate that stuff.  It's a pain to wash and wax.

The idea of removing the the ABS as standard is stupid in my opinion.  The vast majority of the population slam on their brakes and don't know the meaning of "pumping" or even know how to look a car or two ahead of them.  ABS shouldn't be advertised as a fail safe measure, because as it is, people think they are indestructable.  To cover one of my co-"worker's" complaints of most instances you brake in a straight line and it won't help there.  Fuey!  If you lock up your brakes you suddenly aren't stopping anyway.  If you are against ABS and feel the brakes pulse, let off like a "normal" braking system and ease up on the braking.  *sorry, I got a little off topic*

im glad they are making ABS an option  I hate the ####,  it's to easy to mess up and can make it more hazardous when it does that it helps.

I'm glad they're making the ABS an option.  Try pulling 13000 lbs of hay and trying to stop...  It takes about 4 times further than normal to stop the dang rig.  Emergency stops are out of the question!
