Can anyone tell me if I can install a navigation unit on a 2005 Chevy Tahoe Ls.

Since I don't have Y91 code on the glove box sticker I don't know if I can do it, my truck came with factory install head unit with cd and cassette player, stering whell controls and onstar. Can anyone tell me how to find out if I have any amp. In my truck already install or what can I do to install the nav unit I was thinking about part #15108421.

Do you have BOSE? If not, you don;t have an AMP. So you would be able to choose either TNR (Lux) or a NAV (no-Lux) but you woul dhave to get either one of the Amps (lux or non lux).

At least that is the general idea that I have gotten from all the reading.

So you are saying I need either lux or nonlux amp.? Question is what amp part number should I be looking for and Where can I find this amp. Besides the dealership any other place that sell this parts and maybe the wires to set it up.

Yea.  You are going to need one of the Amps either way.  It'll depend on what NAV system you want.

I would read this thread

http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?...ic=28030&st=825

That is the end of the thread, but you can move around.  It started in 2004 so, I started in the newest and worked backwards looking for bit of info.  There is a TON in there that will help you.  Just read.

You wkow I have order nav screen part# 15108421 about a week ago I received today I was afraid was not to work but after tried and removed the old unit and install the nav unit in actually work the unit is install and working well I guess didn't need the amp. The only problem is the chime sound is very low with the old unit I can reset it but with this unit I didn't find any thing on the manual to restet the chime volume.

Anyway I have another question does 2003 and up chevy's come standard whit the vss wire already in the connector or I need to do somethig to get it to the nav unit. Thanks
