I just finished my stereo install, and though I'd share some pics and comments.

I bought a clarion head unit, Infinity 10" perfect sub, Infinity Reference component set, Q-Logic custom enclosure and a multiple amp wiring kit from Crutchfield. I picked up my amps used at a heck of a price; a Punch 800a2 and a sony 50w x 4 (which I bridged at 100w x 2).

Pics of all the stuff laid out nicely

I really love this new headunit

All in all, it went ok. I was happy with the way everything looked except for the color of the sub enclosure. It was supposed to be tan, but, it's a nasty color of brown. I'm going to call crutchfield and see if they can exchange it for a black or charcoal grey color; think it'd look much better.

I'll finish screwing down the amps as soon as I get the brackets for the capacitor; for now they're laying under the back seat. I was planning on installing the sony amp for the components under the passengers seat, but, I forgot that my passenger seat is both electric, and has a heater vent underneath it. No room :D

What I really like is the fact that with the exception of the head unit, you can't tell that I did anything unless you really start looking, or raise up the backseat, which is what I was going for.

I have 100watts going to each component set, and 800watts bridged to the 10" sub. I still have a little tweaking to do in the sound (gains, etc.) but it sounds VERY clean. The bass is still very punchy and very clean, but, doesn't overpower the mids and highs. The headunit pushes too much bass to the components, but, that's taken care of with the crossover on the sony amp.

It was fun doing it myself, and this was the first time I've done an install this extreme. Granted, it's not as extreme as some of the guys who go to competition, that's not what I was going for.

That's pretty sweet. If I had a dollar for every system or component I helped install, I'd be rich. Is there any room behind the rear seat to mount the amp and cap? I wouldn't want to lose that space under the seat. Nice job! :D

There's plenty of room back there. Click here.

Neither has ever overheated in the couple years I've had them in there.

How hard is it taking that seat out? I sure would like to mount them back there if that's an option. If they do start to overheat, I could at least put some fans back there to help circulate some air. That would get them off the floor, and free me up some cab space under the seats.

Four bolts. (2 at each end) Four doors will make it a piece of cake to pull out. The seat back has tabs that slide down into loops/brackets on the rear of the cab wall, make sure you get it back in them, or the seat back flops down...

Depends on the year. My '02 has 5 nuts holding it on. That's right, a whopping one more :D

It's a cable in the middle of the seat that has something to do with child restraint laws, I believe.

But it is easier with 4 doors. I did mine by myself.
