I've got a Sportsmasters on mine.  Cost me $250 with a rubber bed mat.  I had considered getting a fiberglass one, but you'd be surprised how ofton you need room above the bed level and you don't have anywhere to store the hard one.

I am planning on going with a cap one of these days after I get some of the other things I want.  I like the fiberglass tonneau caps, but I don't want to have to be taking it off all of the time to put stuff in the bed.  Going to put a rack and all on it too.  So that is my choice.  But whatever is best for your uses and budget is what you should go for.

I've got a snug top so I voted for the top.  If I had to do it again I would have gone with the A.R.E. they have an option for the front window by the cab so that it swings down so you can clean the windows.  The problem with the hard lid is what Kania2k1 said, if you have somethine that is tall you want to put in the put in the truck you have to take it off.  Since I usually carry a lot of stuff it doesn't work for me.  You might want to also look into the retractable lid or the soft lid as an alternative.  I've never taken any pics of the truck, maybe I will and post um for ya.  Cost of the cap was $1200, top of the line.  Good luck

I have the Leer 100LE cap on my truck.  It has the factory carpeted headliner, and a front slider.  I think it was around $1100 installed with sales tax.  My friend has an Indigo Blue truck and put the 100XL on it and it looks sweet.

 

Caps are nice because they give you a large weather-tite lockable storage area.  However they do limit the size of your cargo.  I usually just carry firewood, bicycles, the dog etc... in the back of my truck so it's no big deal, but if I wanted to carry a refrigerator standing upright, it would be out of the question.

 

Caps do limit your rearward line-of-site a little, and do to the dark tinted windows, it is very difficult to see when backing up in a dark lot.

I got a Extang BlackMaxx,  Its a soft cover, it was $195.00 at my local dealer,  The cover fit great and looks great,  I am very happy with it.

Soft cover is obviously the least expensive and least permanent.  It has the advantage of being relatively easy to take off if you need to carry large items - maybe the hard topper types are easy to take off too - don't have any experience there.

 

Like Shaners said, caps are great for many reasons, but two if them aren't hauling large items or good visibility.  I have an A.R.E cap on mine which works well for *most* of my uses, except for all summer and fall when I'm actively remodelling my money-pit on weekends/vacations, etc.  The cap comes off easily, but it takes 2 people to do it, and you need a lot of room to "store" it when it's off.

 

My best advice is tailor to your needs and how you use the truck.

I went with the soft topper, snap on type. I'm not sure the final cost, it was a free thrown in the deal when I purchased the truck, but I haul a 4-wheeler around almost on a weekly basis and in order for my Sportsman to fit in the bed the cover has to be removed and removed in a timely manner. Also needs to be removed with using just myself, all others need a spare set of hands or you need to make some type of lift system in your guarage to get it up and out of the way.

I'd go with the soft tonneau, plus, my opinion, it looks sportier.

I'm going with a soft top sometime in the near future.  Probably get a extang or a covercraft.  I know that our supporting vendor, Cruise Control, has the covercraft for $230 plus the GMTC discount.

Ryan - I'm planning on getting an Extang Soft Cover Tonneau (no drill install - 3 year warranty on the tarp).  truckaddons $192.00 + Shipping.  Haven't decided on the Classic or Black Max Model yet.  This cover is within my bugdet and meets my convenience issues (easily removed and stored when I put my camper on).  I've been told that they have the strongest bow system of all the soft covers and the winter/summer snaps are very functional from people who have them.  If I was to go with a "hard" cover, my choice would be the Fold-A-Cover.  4 Hinged Panel system, Front Panel Access and no drill install.  Cheapest I found was rumsey truck - $559 + Shipping.

I am going to look at a local place that sells caps and such.  I dont really want a cap (dad has one and i dont like it).  I do like the hard lid but with taller stuf (lawn tractor) it could get in the way.  However it wouldnnt be hard to remove and put in my backyard.  

 

No no seat covers yet hopefully soon though maybe even today

I went with Extangs soft tonneau because it was the least expensive with the best warranty and I did not require anything to lock.  I also liked the ease of rolling it up over the hard fiberglass tonneau which is harder to remove.    

 

The other option I looked at was a slidding tonneau put out by pace edwards that slid on a rail system and locked.  The price was about $1,000 (cdn.)  However I wondered about ice building up in the rails.  To take advantage of the lock mechinism I would have to change the tail gate latch a minor expense.
