Where do you buy your parts?

I've used partszoneonline.com a few times now, when I don't need the parts in a hurry. They've always had good prices and reasonable shipping. And even better, you can call and speak to someone if you have questions. I bought from gmpartsdirect.com once, and I won't again due to their shipping charges.

Where do you buy your parts and why?

Looking for good and bad experiences.

Good example:

Advance Auto

I like the fact that they let me use their scan tool whenever I want to diognos my Suburban and reset the light for free.

Bad example:

Pep Boys stinks in my book. They have plenty of DVD's beefjerky and fuzzy dice crap, but if you want a water pump for a 350 chevy, they have to order one.

I have watched that store decline into a flea market for shiny car candy and mini-bikes from a serious parts store with people who knew what you were asking for.

If its an emergency then the local dealer (take a printout of partszoneonline.com pricing and argue with them hopefully they give in)

AUTOZONE!!!

Can get what I need in a hurry and I know its right because I look all the numbers up myself, if something happens its not right or not what I wanted they ask no questions when I take it back. Free computer scans and resets, free loan a tool program, and on top of all that some excellent discounts on anything I buy there. Its working out nice having them as a sponsor on my race car! :banghead:

Local Napa (Got a distribution center a few blocks away)

Local Dealer (Got a buddy's wife that works there, cost + 10%)

Tbyrne for anything performance

Autozone/Walmart for day to day PM stuff (Wally World generally has the cheapest price on Mobill 1)

Rookie,

I've always had great experiences w/ Summit and Jegs when ordering parts for our rock crawler. The only issues have been with shipping. I think UPS ships directly to Chicago's Sears Tower, throws the sh!t off the top floor and then sends it on it's way. Never had a broken part that wasn't replaced sight unseen by shipper though.

Haven't ordered anything for the HD though. They don't seem to carry much for it and what they do is more show than go. Also there prices on that stuff is generally jacked compared to a specialty shop.
