Does Pressure Washer Hurt Wax?

I live up in Maine where we get a lot of salt on the trucks in winter. I have a Karcher pressure washer that I run hot water in at about 1500 psi. Will this hurt the wax on my truck? Its a lot easier to wash in cold wether with the pressure washer. Thanks

I wouldn't let a pressure washer any where near my rig. Yes, it probably will remove your wax and possibly some things you don't removed.

1500 psi is not all that much pressure so I doubt it will do any harm. Depending on how you use it , it could strip the wax off however.

I don't think it will take wax off but if you have a chip and the pressure gets the right angle......well.... can I say chips away..... I'm a painting contactor. I use Pres washer all the time.

Whatever's broke loose by the pressure is instantly pushed into your paint like sandpaper. So for that reason I also am very reluctant to pressure wash my truck.

 

Forget about removing the wax. The real problem is scratching the paint!
