poorboy Posted February 24, 2006 Posted February 24, 2006 Was wondering what you guys thought about the following two ideas. I just want the truck to sound a little more like a truck and I don't like the looks of exhaust exsiting the truck anywhere if it doesn't have to. No performance gain needed. No drone, and no paks. 1. Cut tailpipe off right after the stock muffler and run turndown. 2. Cut muffler off and go with a 40 seriers and turndown. What should each cost in the mid west? Would option #1 do a d**n thing?
DanMan_S Posted March 1, 2006 Posted March 1, 2006 I seriously doubt that leaving the stock muffler in and removing the tailpipe would do much anyhow. Any changes would not be noticeable due to the huge size of the stock muffler. This modification could probably be done for the cost of buying the turndown and the clamps if you do it yourself. The second option would probably only cost as much as the muffler and abit for welding for the flowmaster to the intermediate pipe and the turndown to the muffler. I know when I had my exhaust made, most of the cost was the pipe and the muffler itself. The labor was like 40 dollars.
