The 96 chevy express van I pulled the engine from has TBI.

http://www.cjavery.com/350Engine-PageComplete.htm

The 96 c/k pickup had CSFI with Vortec heads.

The 95 GMC 1500 Z71 I'm driving has TBI.

Head casting number is 10110810

Gift certificate (common retail or common resturant) mailed to the first person to:

1) Confim I have an exact match 96 model year 5.7L engine to the 95 Z71 350

2) Show me that a 10110810 cast is not a vortec head

3) Prove the engine is not a Vortec 5700

This contest is void where prohibited by law, value of gift certificate equal to and not to exceed the amount next to Andrew Jackson.

ok i think i got it the casting # you gave is for a 10110810...91-up...350..........Gen. 1, 65cc chambers

which it as a gen 1 it is not a vortec head now if i had the casting #from your stock heads i could tell if they are the same

but until i know the # of the other heads and ur block then i cant tell you if they match and are for the same engine

if you are looking for a higher flowing head i would try to find a 10125320...94-96...350..........Gen.II LT1, cast iron version, used

on "9C1" Police package, Impala SS,

Cadillac Fleetwood, Buick Roadmaster

Where were you able to get feedback using that head casting number?

I went to GM Goodwrench OEM part replacement, plugged the number in their search and was given nothing. Afterwhich, I went back to the yard today, pulled the VIN on the van, character number 8 was a K (not an R) to confirm the motor pulled is exactly what is in the truck. I am guessing the Van's didn't go to the Vortec 5700 until 98.

Put another hour in today on engine.

You're efforts at least get you a beer -or- a Starbucks drink (not to offend the possibilty that you're a recovering alcoholic or just don't drink).

Nice truck by the way.

My girlfriend and I are in Rocky Mount next weekend to see her brother.

Any cool yards in your area.

I was actually thinking about going to Roberts Engines Inc (Lucama) basically (this sounds sad) because I like junk yards.
