Performance Headlight options

Guys-

I have spent the last couple of years designing and finally mass producing halogen and HID projector headlamps for the 91-96 Caprice and 94-96 Impala SS. This has been an education for me in the newest lighting technology. There are a lot of terms thrown around like HID, Xenon, Projector, Retrofit, conversion, etc. Throughout this process I educated myself on the legalities and technical aspects of these safety devices in an effort to bring to market affordable, performance oriented lighting. I posted a thread here awhile back regarding the interest in a true HID Projector headlamp system for these vehicles and recieved some feedback. Unfortunately, I didn't have alot of time on my hands. Things have changed abit now, and I am happy to say that my company is now offering DOT compliant, Performance HID Projector Headlamps for several newer vehicles including several supported on this forum. Before taking the next step in offering a group buy, I am interested in identifying a general estimate of interested parties and based on this, I can assemble a group buy.

This post is not a group buy. I would like to know who is interested and by replying here I can get an accurate count. Feel free to ask any questions you might have.

In addition to the above product, FocuzTech is also an OEM for Hella and dealer for Xpel. We do custom headlamp work including integrated Angel Eyes.

Are these a direct swap of the factory lights?........any wiring have to be cut and/or replaced? Any codes thrown by the PCM?..............they look pretty slick but I am concerned just how much light they give off and how long do the bulbs

last? And what do you figure the cost is going to be?....

Yes they use all the oem attachment points.

No, it includes a plug and play harness.

No. There aren't any modifications done to the vehicle that would throw a code

These lamps use the same HID technology available in most newer, upper end automobiles equipped with HID lamps. There are two factors that contribute to a headlamp's optical performance, the first is the bulb type and technology and the second is the optical unit. Unlike what you will find in low cost "halo projectors", this projector optic was purpose built for this lamp and bulb to provide s superior lamp lumen. The HID low beam projector provides a very wide, thorough beam spread with few bright spots. They are significantly brighter than stock and provide a better beam spread. In comparison, HID bulbs deliver around 3200 lumens compared to well under 2000 for just about any halogen bulb out there. Unlike most retailers, FocuzTech has an intimate knowledge of these designs and through our product selection, we install the lamps and products we consider offering, and consult with other industry practioners, before offering the product as a viable after market add-on.

and how long do the bulbs
last?

HID bulbs across the board have a life expectancy greater than halogen due to operating efficiencies. However bulbs are readily available as you will find these on newer mainstream cars today. In general halogen bulbs have a life expectancy of roughly 1000 hours and HID is generally 2000 hours.

And what do you figure the cost is going to be?....

It will depend on the interest. I have flexibility in assembling a group buy for this community.

By the way, the product show in the above pictures is the "black" version. Full chrome is also available. These lamps offer a three year warrantly as well.

I would most definetly be interested if the price is reasonable the only thing is that I own a 99' GMC Sierra. Although it IS the new body style I'm not sure if you plan on offering a model for the 99-06 Sierra trucks?

Yes, we offer a kits for the following vehicles:

99-02 Silverado/00-06 Tahoe and Suburban

01-05 Yukon Denali & XL Denali, 99-05 Sierra, 00-05 Yukon and Yukon XL.

I'd be very interested considering $$$. Also, there would have to be some sort of satisfaction guarantee. I've used a bulb from one manufacturer claiming huge light performance gains and the light output isn't any more noticable than the stock bulb.

I am 100% convinced that you will be satisfied, however...

I will accept them back provided they are in their original packaging, undamaged and completly resaleable condition.

Yes, I feel your pain. We are working on a solution right now for that series of headlamp. I will update as soon as I have information.

If the price is right, I am interested, based on what you have said so far. I have a 2000 Silverado. While I love my bright lights, my dims are a bit "tan" looking and driving in the rain leaves a bit to be disired.

As I get older, I am noticing problems with depth perception, so the better the light I have, the better. Thankfully, I find things to be further away from me than what I feel that they are instead of the reverse. I like the lights in the pictures above.

I have an '03 Silverado and anytime I can improve the performance of any aspect of my truck, I'm game. The reason I haven't purchased HID lighting for mine is primarily the price factor. At $300 and up, I've been shying away in favor of Silverstars.

I understand where you care coming from. Just be aware that $300 HID's are just that...bulbs and ballasts which should not be used in your stock headlamp. What I am offering is a complete, turn key, professional HID Projector headlamp, that is DOT approved and ready to install. While I would love to offer these at that price, the cost to manufacture them is beyond that level.
