Repair Manual

Any thoughts on:

1.  What is the best repair/service manual (i.e., Chilton, Haynes, etc) out there for the new body style 1/2 tons?

2.  Where is the cheapest place to buy one other than Ebay?

Thanks.

I've had a lot of luck with Helm.  The manuals, although a bit pricey, are certainly good.  If you really have the $$$ and a computer with a lot of horsepower, you might opt for their $300 CD set, which covers multiple vehicles and multiple years.

I agree. The factory manual is the ONLY way to go. Get one from Helm.com for $120. The Chilton & Haynes manuals don't cover half what the factory manual does. Personally, I've never like them.

I've got a haynes manual which ran me about 15 bucks.  Like Victory Red said, it isn't as all inclusive as the factory one, but it's nice to keep in your center console as a reference for stuff.  I'd say get the 300 dollar CD set if you've got a few cars or know people who would be willing to pitch in for it, otherwise go for the Helm manuals.

I've been checking Books-A-Million and the auto parts stores.  I'm yet to see any books for the '01's.  Only the Y2K and 99's.  I know there aren't many differences but just wanted to get the one for my year.
