Were did this crap come from. I totally don't agree with this. May as well just all run IROC races. I am sure the manufacturuers are not happy about this.

Opinions Please??????? :banghead:

The car of tomorrow is just like the car of today. 1 body style with different front ends. The cage is bigger. More room for the driver to get in and out. The driver is also centered up a little more. Body parts go together like a puzzle.

If it's called NASCAR. they ought to run factory bodies. If it won't turn slow down. If they are gonna have common template like they do now call it iroc2. Car of tomorrow is just a safer car of today.

Here is a pic of one for yeah Lee.

Car of Tomorrow

They also say that the 2008 Daytona 500 will be all these cars. Part of why I watch NASCAR is because in some round about way you can identify with the Monte Carlo, Charger, etc. Who can Identify with Micheal Schumachers Ferrari?

I know they are all realy the same underneth the sheet metal, but still I don't like this idea!

You wonder how Toyota thinks about this?????????????????

I don't like the future car, I thought I harad something about testing and if the majority of the teams don't like it, they won't change it. But who the hell knows. Nascar is starting to become a communist sport.

I like it.. it's not like all of them will have the same fronts.. you can oblivisly tell that that one pictured is a dodge by the grill.. I'm sure chevy and ford and toyota will have their own grills to

I don't think the teams have any say in the matter. It's always been NASCAR's ball and guys went home if they didn't want to play, it will be no different now. I heard, however, this change will require teams to buy new transports and equipment because the cars are larger, so the savings the teams will have by switching to these cars will be sucked up by the change itself.

On the very last line of the link you provided, it says;

"Improved manufacturer's identity"

How in the world would all of them having the same shape make them easier to identify the manufacture?

I wonder if there is a big bumper bar behind that flat Monte Carlo SS. If so several of the drivers will be even more dangerous in these babies....... :)

I'm looking forward to the new cars. A lot of the racing now sucks, as far as follow the leader and areo push crap. Case and point, California last weekend. That race stunk. I did get a nice nap during it though.

I'm hoping the less areodynamic cars will help make the racing like it used to be in the 80s and early 90s. What they have now doesn't even compare to how exciting the older races used to be.

Other Benefits

• Enhanced TV Camera Locations

? Camera pod designed by Broadcast Sports Technology (BST) mounted on all cars (Roof camera as used today along with additional side-mounted cameras located between the B & C posts)

? Other possible camera locations (low front, etc.)

I think this says it all. I can see it now, "Hub Cam", Fuel Cell Cam", Asphalt Cam", "Cam(shaft) Cam" :D , "Virtual Passenger Cam", etc. and the list goes on and on and on.

Get ready to start seeing wings on the back of all your neighborhood hot rods again. Nascar is talking about removing the rear spoiler and going to a wing instead to improve rear down force. Maybe we'll see the re-birth of the Dodge Daytona and Super Bee. Now thats a retro car that would be cool to see for the 21st century.
