Feels like 4x4 is messing up...

Well ive noticed whenever i put it in auto 4wd...if i take off fast i feel the 4x4 engage...but whenever i slow down, it feels like the wheels are rubbing or something. it makes kind of an eerie noise. maybe its just the fact that it hasnt engaged all the way or what? i honestly have no idea. anyone have any info, or the same problems?

I have owned 4x4 trucks for my entire driving life so far and yes when in 4x4 mode there will be some resistance but it does seem kind of excessive in my truck also.Not sure if thats just how these trucks react or if there is actually a problem, also the other night i pushed the auto trak button and when it engaged into 4x4 mode with a rather loud and annoying thud!Both my s10 you could feel it engage but not like it did the other night kind of has me worried a little bit but it seems to work ok.

 

Any advise if i should just keep a eye on it or bring it in, i dont have a ton of time on my hands so i try not to go to the dealer for every little concerne i have but you think it would be a good idea to have the dealer check out gm tech? Or do you think i will just get the it's a normal operating condition responce if the t-case is not cracked and pouring oil out everywhere.

yeah i also realized that when i switch into 4wlo or hi it engages with like a loud snap. i asked my friend and he was like thats normal,...but d**n...loud like that?
