Hard Allison downshift

Just started to notice when slowing down for a stop the Alli is down shifting rather hard into first gear.

Some time it's rather loud.

 

Anyone heard of this before?

 

Just over 50K on truck and just out of the 2nd tranny service by dealer.

Mine does that only when I'm in T/H mode and I am on the brake.

Sounds like a weak rear wheel speed sensor. They start to drop signal at low speeds first then go out completely. The light won't come on until it's a major problem. I started noticing symptoms of mine going out a while back and replaced it just to eliminate the possibility and it's been fine since. It was under $30 and it's on the back of the transfer case. Another symptom is a sluggish speedo needle from a stop, though mine was fine still, I just knew what I was dealing with from experience at work.

 

It's worth a shot for the cost and time.
