I've been looking for a job for a while, but have had no luck. I've sent lots of email, made lots of phone calls, even had some interviews (they say I did wonderful), but no offers :nopity: . So anyone in the Houston, TX area need a college grad (BBA in Management and MIS) feel free to post here or send a PM.

Does anyone else have this problem, or am I the only one?? :)

Thanks

Michael

Have you tried GOING to the place dressed nice and fill out an app while your there? I guess I am old fashoned. An email and a phone call anyone can do. A person that wants a job goes to the jobs and asks. imo.

Thanks for the reply

Yes, of all the places that I contacted so far, the only ones to give a formal interview were the ones that I went to in person. So I definitely agree that is the best way to go. Here's the interesting thing, after the interview several of the places gave me a website to log on to from home and answer more questions (psychological profile), so essentially I ended up where I started. At home.

That is good advice, but doesn't always work in todays world. Like with government jobs (at least on the federal level), you have to apply online for almost all positions (no paper apps accepted). That is just how they do things. Or if you are applying many states away like I am currently (though mine all had to be online anyways).

But if you are applying for jobs in your area and you can actually fill out applications in person, it is always good to stop by.

Good luck in the job hunt.

Here is my 2 cents on this. Networking, After getting laid off the 1st time I did the online thing and a few days later would either send an email or call the company. I got a few interviews this way but I was still jobless. The way I have gotten my last two jobs was through friends.

Have you thught about service to your country? I am sure a lot of the readers will agree that it is a good start and you get something that no college grad has and that is experience. It is a proud profession.

MY 2 Cents.
