MPG increase with Electric fan?

I am considering installing an electric fan and eliminating the stock one. What kind of realistic gains in MPG will this achieve? Also, will an electric cool as well as the stock fan, since I do pull a 35' fifth wheel camper, and do not need the headache of overheating. I have heard increases of 2-3 MPG, which I find very hard to believe, but if true then it would be worthwhile.

I'm sure there would be a decent gain in MPG's, but I don't have first hand experience.

 

Just as importantly, you would notice a significant seat-of-the-pants increase in performance.

If 2-3mpg were possible, GM would be putting in electric fans on all their vehicles. That would sell a lot of trucks.

I have read .5mpg increase. One reason GM changed to them for 05s. Every bit helps. To get that .5 they also use bumper plugs (better areo) if no tow hooks are installed. Your clutch fan really doesn't use much unless it is engaged (running hot)

I understand the electric fans help the A/C quite a bite in slow and stop and go traffic on killer hot days. More airflow thru the condensor at low engine speeds.
