this supposed to be there?? it is very small on the back wall at the very bottom. I was thinking that it was something to let condensation out as my 97 venture looks to have the same thing....but in reality i'm figuring i need new exhausts on both....lol....i live in Cleveland OH...lots of salt..

while i am on the subject, if i have to replace the exhaust i am thinking about dual exhaust...any recommendations on brands??

it is normal for mufflers to have a small weep hole at the bottom to let excess moisture out. I've seen that on a lot of them.

As mentioned, it is a weep hole for condensation. However you could tell your wife (like me) that its rusted and needs replacing  :)  I installed the Magnaflow stainless steel muffler on mine. Its a good sounding muffler with ZERO resonance at any speed, however step on the gas pedal and it has a deep muscular tone like a corvette.
