New season ticket holder!

Got the letter in the mail Thursday...and the very first line was as follows:

Welcome -- You are among the newest season ticket holders in Memorial Stadium!

I about jumped out of my shoes!!! (not sure what I'm talking about...see my avatar)

I know some you, and that's probably most of you, are thinking, "no big deal." But remember that Memorial Stadium has been sold out since 1962. Getting season tickets is pretty much like winning the lottery around these parts.

I grew up listening to the 'Skers on radio and graduated from UN-Lincoln (yes, season tickets as a student). But since then I've probably been to three games. They are adding 15,000 new seats to the stadium and had an on-line application process for tickets. I signed up but really thought my chances were slim and none. Nope...jackpot!

So this November, when you are watching ESPN and they show a Nebraska game or highlights...the north wind is blowing...a hint of snow in the air...it's all of 30 degrees outside...think of me, sitting in the north enzone with a huge-assed grin on my face, enjoying every moment of it!

Congrats!

Now if I could just become a season ticket holder at Bristol Motor Speedway for the NASCAR races I'd be jumping outta' my shoes too!

Bristol's like Memorial Stadium,Tickets just don't come up all that often,You have to put your name on a lottery type wait list.

Thanks MS3DALE.

NU used to have a "list" for season tickets, but it got so big and there was so few seaton tickets opening up year to year, that i think they simply stopped taking names for the list.

College World Series is the same way here in Omaha. I know for sure the CWS doesn't take names or keep list any more.

At least you guys are fighting strangers....

My family has had season tickets to Daytona since 1988 (4 seats), and this year was the first time I actually got to go.

Even worse, we have had season tickets for Bristol since the early 90's, and I still havent gotten one of those 4 tickets. They are selling our tickets this year, and I still cant get one bc I can't afford all 4....Family. Oh well, maybe I can steal one for the summer Daytona race.

I dont even dream about getting any of the Tennessee football or basketball tickets.

Oh, but serious congratulations to you!!!!

Sweet...you lucky SOB...I would kill for season tickets to watch the Huskers...

Go Big Red!! Congrats on scoring those tickets, I know they are near impossible to get.

Very nice. I could've gotten seasons at a slight discount back when I worked for the Browns, but I was just finishing up school and didn't have the coin for a psl and all, so I passed on the deal. Probably a good move in the long run as I only get weekends off every 5th and 6th week.
