Zaino Bros. car polish

Recommended Posts

Hey,

I am thinking about getting a really good car polish and have heard great things about Zaino Bros' and was wondering if anyone has heard about it or used their products.  Are they easy to apply and is it worth the money??

Thanks,

well worth the money

Z5, Z2 and the spray stuff is a must

I use it on my truck and any other car I detail. I also sell it for my rep in the area.  It beats anything that you can find in local parts places. I use Z1, Z2, and z6(the spray). There is a new product out ZFX by him. It basically takes the place of the Z1 and has a quicker drying time. IMO it not worth the $20. When I do a vehicle for the first time I will clay it, then use meguires body scrub, then Z1, Z2, and finish off with the Z6. The Z6 is like a armor all for your paint. It helps the shine and after you wash and dry it will get any water spots that were created when you were drying your car.  Their web site is www.zainobros.com. Feel free to drop me a email if you have any questions.

Definatley recomend the stuff.  It takes a full day the first time you do it but the results are worth the labor.  If you search the site you can find lots of pictures that we all have posted after using the product.

I also recommend it!  But I do have one question.  When I put it on, i washed it with Dawn, put down the Z1, then Z2, then Z5, and finished with Z6.  However, the website says to finish with Z2!  What do you guys do?

You need to swap the Z2 and Z5. Z5 is for filling in scratches and swirl marks. Z2 is the polish that goes over it. you should be safe though since you have a coat of Z2 on it.

I began using Zaino when I got my '99 T/A. Great stuff! Use it on the truck too. BTW, Z2 is for clearcoated finishes, Z5 for non-clearcoats. Z6 for quick touch-ups.

Correction: Z2 is for clear coat, Z3 is for non-clear coat. Z5 is for removing swirl marks and fine scratches. You can get more info on the zaino website

The bare minimum is Z1, Z2 (or Z3) and Z5. Thats what I use. You can see results on my picturetrail page in the zaino album.

One of the things that I think is great about them is that if you have any question you can use their website to email them. They usually get back to you with an answer within a couple of hours. Great customer service.

:D Doh! You are right! I don't use the Z5 'cause I never have had swirl marks. The T/A is silver and that, along with the Pewter on the truck, are the easiest colors to take care of. Both are terribly forgiving!

BTW, I use the Zaino car wash, leather cleaner (for the T/A) and tire dressing as well. The tire stuff is non-gloss, just what I wanted. If you want a gloss, try something else.

I figured you might want at least one partially dissenting opinion.

Zaino is nice, nice and expensive.

I would describe it as perfect for a show vehicle.  The first application will take an entire day.  Several applications may be needed on darker vehicles to remove streaks.

I do not use it because I do not feel I have time to use it properly (Zthis then Zthat then Zother) every time I detail my vehicles.

Don't get me wrong, they are great products.  I have tried it on several vehicles.  I just do not have 1 whole day to devote to detailing a vehicle every couple of weeks, spending a good bit more than the $5/bottle for McGuires cleaner/wax that works well.
