Gauges/PRNDL Shuts Off

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I need to figure out what's wrong with my 97 Silverado K1500. Recently, I noticed that the PRNDL lights and the gauges stopped working. The acceleration/"pick up" of the vehicle was terrible -- I felt like I was driving a school bus. The service engine light was also on at this time, but upon scanning the codes, we didn't find any useful information (not really surprised). Eventually, the PRNDL indicator and the gauges came back to life, the service engine light shut off, and it stopped acting like a school bus. Today, it started doing it again.

Please, any thoughts or ideas would be great. Thanks!

What were the codes?

Both came up as Transmission Error Codes...and there was also a code we could not find, I believe it was 1060. I've checked all of that, and the fuses as well.
