87 454TBI / Engine kills immediately

I posted this on the 2500/3500 board but hoping maybe someone will see it here.

 

It was running fine on the right tank for about 2 hours and now it will only run on the left tank the second I switch back to the right it kills like the ignition has been shut off not like it is running out of gas. Is that normal for fuel injection

With EFI you need pressure for it to work. If you switch the pump off the engine will stop quickly, not sputter and die like it would if it just wasn't getting enough fuel.

It sounds like the pump is not supplying fuel when you switch tanks. This could be the switch or a valve or the pump.

My recommendation is to first see if the pump is running.
