Magnaflow exhaust system

I see there are some vendors on ebay who are selling cat back Magana flow exahust systems for both SS and 1500 half tons. They look to be around $515 or so.

I'm looking for somebody who has EXPERIANCE with this topic (not just rantings or opinions). My exhaust is all stock right now, and I want a louder setup, so I was thinking of having a muffler shop put on a Magnaflow muffler and making me a new tail pipe. It seems the muffler is about $150 or so, after shipping, plus their labor would be around $100 I'm thinking...unless you know differently :banghead:

So for 1/2 price, I could just do a muffler.

I'm interested in the sound more than the power gain. High flow dual systems only benfit you at high RPM, and I'm not the kind of guy who goes past 4 grand that much. I take it easy on my pickup, because I know it's not a race car, and I want it to last.

My question is, is it worth it to get the entire, cat-back Mandrel bent system, or to keep most of my stock system and just do a muffler?

Yea, $500 seems too steep for me, when I can get a good muffler for $100. So what kind of cat-back is that for $350, and where did you get it?

Just go www.corsaperf.com then surf the web for resellers... you can pick up an amazing GM Certified Cat-Back Exhaust for around 750$. Its loud, deep and roars on the outside, but when inside with windows closed, you are still able to talk comfortably. i've been approached by a few SS owners asking me about my exhaust - took them for a test drive... and they were amazed... quieter inside, louder outside... more consistent rumble... never heard one complaint... :chevy:

I had a guy just throw on a muffler and leave all of the rest stock . then put 2 5" turndowns dropping over the back axle right next to each other and it looks and sounds awsome....although it was a flowmaster.....and it was around $350. Just take it to a shop it should be a pretty reasonable price for what u want.

I bought a magna flow muffler and tip (single exit). had a local exhaust shop install. All for about $200. Performance gains: engine is peppier, mpg hasnt changed (I usually drive a little harder too to hear the growl). Noise is not bad at all. Cruising around town you barely hear it until you hit the gas then you know there is a V-8 on the other end :)

I got mine from http://www.performancepeddler.com/savecart.asp

Best price out there. I got mine around xmas (had it installed xmas eve) and he was offering xmas specials.

I wish i would have added this sooner than when I did.
