custom white face gagues

I'm in the process of making custom white face gagues, but I'm not quite sure how I'm going to get the back light to shine through...

 

I'm just using regular paper, do you have any ideas?

 

I'll post some pictures when I'm finished, if I ever finish...

I'm just guessing, but I think you'll have to take an "exacto knife" and cut out every graduation on the paper.  

 

These things are only about $100...  It might be easier to work a little OT and buy a set of them.
