I have about 90,000 on my 02 silverado. I think i'm going to change the plugs in it. The gas mileage is pretty bad. I was wondering what plugs to go with. I'm a college student so i can't afford the really expensive ones but I also do not want to put cheap ones in. Also is it necessary to change the wires or will just changing the plugs be ok?

I'm guessing you have a 5.3 engine. I would just change the plugs. Wires on these very seldom go bad. I would put the same ac-delcos that come out back in. I know there are a lot of guys on this board that like aftermarket stuff, but you can't beat original equipment. Change your fuel filter, air filter and PCV also. Do not overlook the one most common reason for poor mileage, tire pressure. Its easy to forget to check it.

What ever comes out, replace with same kind.
