Stock Radio Replacement

I just got this truck about a week ago. it's got the factory deck am/fm with the cassette and equalizer in the dash. I already have a jensen head unit, two panasonics for the front and two blaupunkts for the back, plus a dash kit to mount the head unit. my question is how is this thing wired up. i'm gonna tear into it in the morning before i go to work and i would like to not run into any suprises. what i have in mind is that the system runs through the head unit and the tape deck plugs into the head unit. anny help as to whick wires are what . should i cut wires and splice them to the new deck wires or is there an adapter i should use instead. just basically if someone could give any vehicle specific advice/ instructions on doing this i would appreciate it. or if you could point me in the right direction. thanks

When I replaced my stereo and added speakers, i didn't bother buying a wiring harness and just spliced everything. I didn't run into any problems doing so, and saved a few bucks. It took me about an hour or so, taking my time to make sure I didn't burn anything up.
