Will H3 Wheels fit on a 1500

The factory steel wheels have rusted really bad on my truck. I dont think that the dealer is going to do anything with warrenty and I cant stand the way they look.

 

Anyway I have a chance to get a set of Hummer H3 alloy wheels for $120, I know I'll have to get the bigger 265 tire (might go 285 anyway) but I'm wondering if they bolt up or not. They're 6 lug, but I'm wondering about the offset. Anyone know for sure.

Well, I'll update this in case it helps anyone else.

 

Not 100% sure but this is what I've been told, the bolt pattern and the offset is the same But the center bore is larger on the H3, Colorado and Canyon. So the only way to make them work is to machine a spacer for the center bore, not worth it for me.

 

So on to plan B, find Silverado wheels cheap or paint the rusty stockers, maybe I'll just trade it.

Yes, the bore on the H3/Colorado/Canyon is approx 100mm 1500's are less. Over on coloradofans.com many have used silvy wheels, but had them bored out to fit the hub. I don't think you would have to use a spacer with them (aftermarket wheels rarely ever have the same bore as stock), But it would never hurt.

 

*EDIT* What year is your truck? The newer ones must have at least 17" rims on them due to brake clearence. I think the H3 has 16's.

 

*EDIT* NM I see your sig now. they should work np on your truck. I checked American racing's site and it shows 16's for your truck, so they should work just fine.

Center bore is definitely larger on the H3 rims. Problems from vibration commonly occur when this is the case. As of now, I know of no aftermarket Hub Centric rings for this. Second problems is the H3's are using the same chassis as the Colorado/Canyon, they have an extremely high positive offset, similar to a FWD car. I would stay away from these wheels. Even if you got them to clear the brake calipers, they would sit too far inward and look dumb. Good luck, Scott
