Knowing What You Do Now

PaulieK

Knowing what you do now about your current truck, would you purchase the same truck over again if you had a chance to do it over? And Why???

I would buy my truck again, but probably with some more goodies in it, say the Duramax. I ashamed to say, but I have owned a few Fords before. This being the first :D I have owned, it is far better. Even the very few issues I have had, the dealership has proven itself over what I was used to. (If you think these "stealerships" are bad go  at a Ford dealership numerous times.)

No, I wouldn't. Not exactly the same truck. But yes, almost the same truck.

I'd also get rid of the extended cab and go instead for regular cab. Less beam shake, better weight distribution, bigger gas tank. And since I now know that my 2005 has socialist dogma big brother power locks, I'd go pre 2004 in a silent vote against the bastards.

Definitely..very happy with my truck. Only item I would have liked to change was to get a 2500 instead of 1500.

Hard to say if I'd buy my truck again. I love it, but it was the first truck I had owned in a long time and my original plan was to lowr it and go for a sport truck. But after the "off-road bug" bit me I now long for a 4wd. Also as functional as the extended cab is I would definitely prefer a full crew cab (I commonly haul around several friends).

However, I think this truck has been great for reassuring me what great trucks GM makes and how much I love the NBS. Basically, it's just taught me what my next truck will be.

As stated earlier, not exactly. I'd buy a GMC instead of the Chevy because I don't like the 03 front end. In addition to that, i'd buy one more optioned out than the one I have now.

I bought my truck with the intentions of buying a travel trailer. Gas was still about $1.75/gal, and things were great... A freakin month after I bought it, gas began to ballon at an asinine rate, and now, the money that I COULD be spending on a travel trailer, is NOW going to gas.

As much as I like my truck, I would have to say, that if I knew that gas was going to go up like it did, I wouldn't have bought it knowing the 12-14mpg that it gets.

While gas hasn't gotten to the point to where it'd be cheaper for me to trade it off for a smaller better economical vehicle, and take the hit for the "negative equity", that point seems to be getting closer every single week.

With truck payments ($440/mo), a tank of gas a week ($240/mo), insurance ($120/mo), and maintenance, I'm now spending approximatly $850/month on my vehicle. When I bought it, I was only having to spend about $150/mo in gas, and that would've gone nicely to a nice camper... Thankgs to Big Oil, that's now a pipe dream.
