Bad whining noise through speakers

Yesterday I was applying some dynamat to my driver's side door. I pulled the component sub out of the door. I turned the radio on after I had the speaker out. While applying the dynamat, the speaker wires from the door speaker touched, and I heard a couple of popping noises. Then, I heard a high-pitched whining noise through all of the front and rear speakers, and it didn't go away. That's with the engine off. It's worse when it's running, and the pitch gets higher as the RPM's increase. Is there a way to get rid of this noise, or are the preouts on my cd player gone? Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

You toasted it, dude.

Only chance you might have is that you blew a fuse on your clock circuit or something. But the chances are slim.

Toasted what? The cd player? Amp?

Everything still plays, and I still have audio. Clock circuit....is that inside the cd player? Thanks!

I fixed it. I soldered some wire from the outside of the preout to the chassis on the cd player, and it solved my problem. Sounds like new.
