My work truck is a 1999 gmc savanna 2500 with the 5.0L I am getting a mil with a code of p0753 and no 1st gear or overdrive just 2nd and 3rd dont know where to start any help thanks

I would start by replacing both the 1-2 and 3-4 shift solenoids. That is the most probable cause, and the cheapest.
