2006 Line Level Converter Wiring for Bose System

Recommended Posts

I'm looking to add an amp and sub to my 06 Bose system and am trying to install the line level converter but can't figure out which wires to tap into for the rear speakers so I can run my sub. Does anyone know? I've searched and found for older systems but can't find anything on this one.

Thanks a ton for any help.

What kind of converter are you using? I think I used a PAC AOEM-24 to install an Infinity Basslink in my '06 Sierra. I know it is from PAC (Pacific Accessory Corporation). It is a plug-n-play application. No tapping into wires. You just disconnect the harnass from your radio and plug the PAC converter in-line. If you do go this route, make sure to use all four outputs on the converter. It makes a huge difference in the output of your subs. There is also a 2 channel version.

I just installed the one Enigma said last weekend. Put mine under the center console like some others have done

It works for now. I was getting serious feedback from the front outputs (RCA). Switched to the rears and no more feedback. Good thing I was only hooking up one amp!

I've had this same sub set-up in the last 2 vehicles, and it just doesn't sound quite right hooked up to the factory system. It's like there is a low pass filter built into the wiring going into the Bose amp. Not getting the lows like I remember getting. Still playing with the tuning, but not having any luck so far.

One other thing they didn't talk about in the instructions was the adjusting screws in the adapter. What is the purpose of these? The instructions make no mention of it. Thanks for any input!

The adjusters are to raise or lower the power to the rca cable for your subs. I set my subs a little louder than I needed and then adjusted it down with those screws. Depending on where your amp is mounted it can be pretty handy. I cut a small hole in my center console cubby and pulled the adapter through there so I can adjust it of I need to.

That's interesting... May have to play with that if I'm bored sometime. I can get to my amp easier than that box though. Good to have options I guess!

Use the PAC C2A-GM24. It's very easy to install (no cutting any wires) and it works better then trying to use a universal high level to low level converter.

not on a Silverado...

the C2A-GM24 only works in Escalade's and Denali's. To tap into a non-lux Bose system (silverado, sierra, tahoe, burban, etc) and get a good audio signal, use the PAC AOEM-GM24.

dont use an LOC on the non-lux Bose systems! :driving:

i just ran into the same thing on my new 06. i never could fine a wire that was hot when the radio was on. i finally tapped into a hot wire in the fuse box that comes on/off with the ignition. i also have an in-line fuse on the remote wire just in case something gets a spike also......i sent an e-mail to pac and that was all they could come up for a solution also.
