Rebates already??

Got a "coopin" in the mail today for $1500 off the new 2007 Suburban, Tahoe and Avy. (as well as GMC models) Also for the 2006 Silverado and 2007 Silverado Classic. Offer good with other offers.

 

I know things are a bit slow, but rebates this soon and in what is supposed to be the "hot selling season" for the manufacturers?

 

My wifes comment was:"If they were offering $15,000 I would consider it. While I love the look of the new Suburban, $50k is a bit too steep."

I knew GM couldn't resist the rebate bug. With Ford and dodge both offering big rebates I figured GM would be close behind. So much for the American revolution; a bunch of smoke and mirrors in a poor attempt to move vehicles.

I think they are all feeling the effects of the gas prices.... sales of the larger vehicles are probably slow as people are still adjusting and with rumors of another spike in this summer... I do not see things changing for a while.

How did you get the coupon? Are you a gm-card member?

Not a card member, but I have bought a share of new Chevy rigs in the past several years, the last being a 2002 Impala. I get letters all the time telling me I need to trade and here is a "coopin" for some sort of amount.

 

I used to get letters wanting me to buy the extended warranties, but I guess my vehicles are old enough that they just want me to buy new ones! LOL
