4.10 gear on 1500 trks

Is it at all possible to have a special order trk with the 4.10 ratio behind an automatic and 5.3 in an extended cab 1500 truck???  not counting the 1500 hd.

Yep and if you plan on using it as a towing vehicle with any degree of regularity the 4.10 gears are a great option but with a small mpg penalty.

Believe it or not, I think the guys with the 4.10 option are getting very close to the 3.73 gears as far as mpg's.  Certainly, it would be a necessity for towing heavy loads...  and it seems to add about 400-500 RPM's at cruising speeds.

I've got 4.10 gears in the back of my 2000 Z71 Extended Cab with the 5.3L.  I get about 14 mpg city and 17 highway.  Not bad if you ask me.

Dittos on that.  My truck is the same config and pretty much exact mileage.

i think in a half ton you only can get 4.10s in a 4x4 and it only gets 1mpg less then a 3.73 would get

I thought you could only get a 4.10 rear gear in a 4x4 z-71 half ton????????  not the regular sierra 2 wheel drive ,,, at least the buyers guide won't let you,,,, could it be special ordered????????????????????

According to the "build your own" on the web site you can get 4.10's

I average 16 mpg with my 4.10's. I don't do much city driving, but it's pretty hilly around here.
