AC/Heater control box lights

I have a 2000 Silverado. Have any of you replaced the lights inside the A/C heater controls? Mine are burnt out so I disassembled the control box and they are soldered to the circuit board. If anyone has fixed this, where did you find the new bulbs to solder in?

Thanks

You can find the bulbs at RadioShack, part #272-1154 (12V*50mA Bi-Pin Lamp).

While you're there pick up the Five Piece Soldering Tool Set, part # 64-2802B, and a coil of Desoldering Braid, part # 64-2090.

You use the desoldering braid to unsolder the burnt bulbs so you can pull the bad bulbs from the circuit board. It draws the melted solder into it. The tool set has a coil of solder you can use to solder in the new bulbs.

Easy to do. It is helpful if you have some way of holding the board stable as you do your work.

Thanks for the reply. Exactly what I needed. I thought about Radio shack yesterday. The part numbers are great. that will save a ton of time.

Thanks Again :happysad:
