Looking into a tune, how good have they been to work with?

I ordered one about 6 months ago. Got the PCM to so I could just swap the computers. The first one the speedo was way off (10+mph). I sent it back and they took care of it right away and I got it back within 3 days. As far as the tune, I had 93octane tune, raised rev limiter, raised shift points, (no change to shift firmness or line pressure (I have a built trans), no speed limiter, change tire size.

All in all I really like it. Can't beat it for the price. The performance is significantly better than stock and the old Hypertech I had. No adverse side effects other than paying for premium gas Gotta stay out of the throttle......but it's so much more fun

Got mine in a week ago saturday, absolutely no complaints thus far...don't see any in the future either. Still on my first tank, so can't really tell if there is any improvement in mpg or not. But there is a big change on the get-up-and-go, specially at 30-45 mph and 60-80 mph. Got the speed limiter pushed back to 222 mph, but haven't hit that...yet. There just aren't any straight roads in East Texas...

I called Jesse in July 2005 a couple of times to figure out what I wanted. I ordered it and had it in 2 weeks.

I have not had one issue since instlaling it in August 2005. Hell, the day after installation, I drove 7 hours to Carlisle PA for the All Truck Nationals with no problems.

His deal is the best thing going IMO

I have had mine for a long time, with no problems what so ever. I have the mileage/89-midgrade/towing tune. Absolutely outstanding.

So, do you have to swap it back when you go to the dealer or how does that work? Is it a replacement PCM or ???

It can be either. You can send your pcm and have him tune it or get a tuned pcm. I would recommend swapping the original back in if you go for service for a couple reasons. First reason is not to give them any reason to complain about onoring the warranty. Second reason is they may reprogram the pcm as part of the service then you lose may lose your tune. If I recall, mine was $150 with pcm or around $75 without. No brainer to get the extra pcm IMO.

Question, how much of the torque management should I have removed? This is a rig that has 133000 miles on the factory tranny.

Most recommend 50% if you have no tranny upgrades.

I would agree on 50%. I went with none but I have a built trans. TM removal was the single best reason for a custome tune. I could not believe the difference in the 1-2 shift. With stock pcm, total bog for 1-2 seconds right after the shift from first to second. With the tune, it is a seamless shift and just keeps pulling. Haven't busted anything yet in 20K.

Does eliminating the 50%TM help or hurt mileage. Does it give you the ability to bust the tires loose by mashing the throttle?

Would like to get a MPG tune for the wife's Tahoe for 87 octane (Jesse claims 1-2MPG) but don't know yet how his tune effects the use of E85.

Would like to get a MPG tune for my 02 PU 5.3L. Can you get multi tunes on one PCM. (something about using the tow/haul button for the second tune?)

What are you guys seeing for MPG gains if any?

My wait4me tune is now 2 weeks old on our 06 Sierra Crew Cab. Since it is so new, I had to send our PCM to Jesse to reprogram. Still the truck was out of service only 6 days. This is my wife's daily driver. Before Jesse's tune she would get 16.1 to 16.2 mpg consistantly. In the last 2 weeks, now we are seeing 18.4 to 18.7 mpg with the same driving routes and routines.

We ordered the 89 octane tune and we got everything Jesse promised, extra power and increased gas mileage.

Our one son was so impressed, he ordered one for his 05 Silverado Crew Cab and also one for his 05 Suburban. He should have them any day now.
