2WD LIFT!

hey guys. im just about to purchase my first truck and am settling for nothing more than a 2000 or newer gmc or chevy. ive found a few great ones in my area. i really want a 4x4 so i can lift it and do it all up awesome. but ive been thinking about how much i will really take the truck off road. (not too much)

it is stupid to lift a 2wd? i love the look of a nice lifted truck. is 4x4 worth the xtra money if im not going to use it that much? thanks guys

Howdy, I got a 2wd instead of a 4wd for pretty much that same reason. I did not get a 4wd becuase I have very little self control and if I am out on the trails with some friends it would turn into "my truck made it can yours" and that can be expensive. If it is going to be a daily driver and kept on the roads most of the time, I would go with a 2wd truck for now and go with a 3 or 4" lift. You will still be able to have a nice looking truck with the ride height of a Z71 and will be able to do some mild off roading. Hope this helps.

I agree. If you don't need the 4wd, don't get it...at least not yet. Plenty of perks of having a 2wd...better fuel mileage, smoother ride, cheaper. Just stay out of the deep stuff.
