Rear Trans Seal

C & A s Dad

Question

My O2 Yukon XL 1500 has had the rear trans seal and bushing replaced under warranty at 39K miles. The leak was very slight, not enough to drip but could be seen where a small amt of fluid had spun off the yoke on to the floorplan. I was under it this past weekend and after 5,000 miles since it was replaced, I can see a very small wet area around the seal. It is not dripping but it is not dry either. I have looked under at least 5 other Yukon XL and all but one of them showed some slight leakage at the rear seal.

I just wondered if this was an issue? Is it normal to have some seapage or should I take it back to have it replaced again? It is still under the extended warranty.

Funny, I have also looked under some Tahoes and regular Yukons and did not see the wet area. It appears that they use a different driveshaft design.

Any info would be appreciated.
