I just bought a compass/thermomter mirror off of ebay, and need to know the part # for the sensor.

It's a 2006 Silverado 1500.

Thanks

I went to the dealer and picked the sensor up today. The part guy there told me it is part #9152245, and I would need to have my truck's computer programmed to see the sensor. This sensor also goes behind the passenger side headlight, instead of near the radiator like I've heard.

This goes against everythign I've read about with this... Any thoughts?

Thanks

There is one behind the passenger side headlamp but thats not the one you want,That ones for the climate control system.

You want the number I gave you....15047946,This is the one thats behind the grille in front of the A/C condenser, kinda' between the bowtie emblem and drivers side parking lamp.

And your truck does not need to be programmed for it!

Thanks for the info, that's what I had thought.

Do you happen to know if all trucks have the harness already built in for the sensor to plug into? My truck is a 1500 WT.

Thanks for the help!

You know Chris,I'm not sure if they all have the connector or not.

A buddy of mine with an '01 did the same thing your doing (His also didn't have the compass/temperature mirror) and I think his already had the connector, all he had to do was add the sensor.

Hey Chris,I just e-mailed my buddy and he said his did NOT have the connector for the sensor,He had to add it. I can get you the GM part number for it if you need it.

I couldn't find any harness in the area that you specified

The part # would be great.

Also, if anyone has a picture of where the sensor is, that would be great too. I might just go to the local dealer at lunch time tomorrow and take a peek under the hood of one of the new trucks to see.

Chris,The part number on the sensor connector is 12101856.

Now what you may have to do is make your own harness, spliced from the connector, from it up-to inside the truck to the mirror.

This is what I had to do on my '99 that I had.

You see the '99's only had the compass/self-dimming mirror option,No temperture display option until 2000,So I got a mirror from a 2000 and bought the sensor and connector and just ran my own harness from it to inside the truck and then I added the terminals to the inside mirror harness connector, after that it was plug-n-play!
