Factory Warranty

Even though I have an extended warranty. My Factory Warranty expires Wednesday.  :but:  :but:

I hope I had the dealer do all the stuff I think needed attended to.

I found out the previous owner had the steering shaft replaced, new rear leafs at 25,000 ( Right side broke, they replaced both).

And for me they replaced both xcab rear windows ( oh, that whistle  :P )

The 4x4 switch assy. and a new grille (anyone else get that acid rain that wears the chrome off the corner of the grille--GMC) ?

Hope I did'nt miss anything. :0  :0

Although the ex warranty covers alot of stuff for 5 years 75,000 miles don't think it would have covered the grille and windows.

Pretty impressed with the dealer. Even though I believe they get the  $$$ from GM I just mentioned the grille and thought we would discuss it later. When I went to get my loaner ( a 2003 Pontiac Vibe (yuck!) )  they were just getting done installing a new grille  :D  :D

Knock on wood.

Did'nt mean to ramble. But I wanted to try my hand at a first new post.  :P

28,000 miles and beyond !!!!!!

Do you know if you can get the extended warrenty any time before you factory one runs out? I didn't get it with the purchase of the vehicle but would like it now at 26K. The last offer I got in the mail was 100 bucks a month, is it possible to get that over the remainder of the loan or do I have to pay it off in the one year it said in the flyer?

Not sure how that works. Hopefully the link above will help you. When I bought my '99 a couple months ago, it only had approx. 2 months left on the factory warranty. And I was affraid if the truck was a lemon I'd be screwed. So, I agreed to buy the xtended warranty if they gave me a deal I could live with. (Even though it's an outside company they get a commision.) $1600. for 5 years 75,000 miles. The truck had almost 28,000 on it at purchase. Bumper to Bumper 0 Deductable. It covers quite alot of stuff. Drivetrain, all seals, brake lines and cylinders, water pump, alt, switches gauges,u-joints,road assit.,loaner...well you get the point.

Maybe you can get a better deal. But if you want any info I'd be glad to get it for you.    Rich

I was going to buy an after market warranty but after doing a lot of research and speaking with the service manager decided against it.  He said they would accept aftermarket warranties but they have problems with the companies paying if they don't agree with the hours or cost of parts.  I didn't want to hassel so I went ahead and bought a GM warranty 6/60 no deductable for $1350.  They wanted $1550 to begin with but they cut me a deal.
