Corsa Exhaust for Sierra

Well, i'm still pretty new here. I do more reading than posting. I bought an 04 GMC Sierra 2wd r/c stepside about 3 wks ago w/5.3 v8. I love the truck and I have been doing some mods here lately, such as exhaust, tint, cai. I got the super 40 flowmaster, I love the sound but it does drone a lot. I really want a Corsa exhaust system but is it really worth the 900 bucks? Does anyone have Corsa exhaust on their truck or SUV with the 5.3? How is the performance? Thanks.

I have a Corsa Cat-Back on my '06 Crew Cab with 5.3. I have been very happy with mine. As far as performance, I really haven't been able to tell much difference at all. I do like the the way it works though. At highway speeds, it has no drone at all in the cab. When you put your foot in it, the roar comes to life. It sounds great when you fire it up and has a nice rumble at idle. Mine is the split rear exit with slash-cut tips. Looks great too. My only complaint is that it was a pain in the butt to get the pipes even out the back. I paid $674.00 on Ebay with free shipping. So far, well worth it.

I think the Corsa kit is very nice and it has a very nice sound. However, I think it's a bit much at $800.

I recommend the Magnaflow kit. I think quality is on par with the Corsa (Stainless) and it's a lot less money. If you check out this post you can see my experience and hear some sounds clips from my Magnaflow install.

The corsa is probable a great system, but it is a premium price since it is the only GM approved one. I really like my Magnaflow, and got a smokin deal from here sounds great and is all stainless so it will last forever.

I like my Corsa also but the price is high. I lucked out and got mine for $100 off a wrecked 04.

I have heard some magnaflows and I didn't care for them too much. They just seemed too quiet, but the flowmaster drones way to much. Does anyone know how Borla exhaust sounds on a 5.3? Borla is quite a bit cheaper but is it as good?

The CORSA is definetly worth the price!!

I've had two CORSA systems,One on my '99 and the current one on my '04.

My buddy also has one on his '03 and loves it!!

I think if you shop around though you can do better than $900.00,The one on my truck lists for around $735.00.

We both got ours for around $380.00 on the GM "Dealer Demo" plan because we work at a GM dealer.

By the way the CORSA systems are no longer a "GM officially licensed product"

GM now has their own systems available (For the life of me though I can't remember who makes them for them....Must be this heat gettin' to me!!)

Why?

Because it looks good,sounds awesome and bumps up the performance a bit.

The CORSA system has NO drone what-so-ever in the cab at any RPM range unlike some of the other systems that guys have mentioned,any drone to me is annoying so that was important to me in my decision on a system,Plus at the time the CORSA system was a GM licensed product and I got a heck of a deal on it!

Why not? Everyone has a preference on what they like as far as sound and looks. Some people like it stock....(usually the old people who cant hear anything anyway hehe)...others like it louder.

I just got an E-Mail back from my old GM parts rep. on who makes the GM performance exhaust,He said BORLA is making them for GM.

I have a magnaflow single exit on my suburban (05 w/ 5.3) it sounds great at start up when cold and at idle. I even like it on the highway - only complaint is cruising at 80 or so there is a bit of drone.

But, I have had many compliments at gas stations, town landfill, etc.
