Well for my b-day one of my presents was a new computer chair because the one i had fell apart a few months ago..

So we went to an office place in Toronto to check out some chairs and i found the one i wanted *Retail Price -- 140.00* so the salesguy found my chair and we took it to the checkout.. We had 2 other items but this is where the lucky part comes in the total bill was 59.69?!?!?!?!?!  I seen it but my dad nudged me to be quiet to see if anything was said..  The bill shows something for 30 dollars the calculator and some pens..

My lucky day :)

Now the moral question comes up..

Would you have said anything?? or would you be like us and walked out?

#### no. i know the mark-up of retail stores first hand.. compusa sells cables, say a 6' usb cable for 20-25 dollars cost is 4 dollars or less.

so just take a guess at how much that chair cost the store.

I was in northern GA a few years ago on my motorcycle.  I stopped at a Super Walmart to pick up a case of Coors Light to sit back and drink where we were staying and do a little "bench racing".

When the cashier scanned it it came up ?.89.  I told her it was marked ? something on the shelf.  She said that there was nothing she could do be cause the scanner is in charge.

****!!!  I wish I had the truck!!!  You can't carry very much beer on the back of a sport bike....  (I paid ?.xx for it)

I have a standard policy......it's their responsiblity to price it right...if you think about it, how many times has it gone the OTHER way and you didnt notice???? I bought a battery powered drill at Home Depot priced at ?.  My wife and I saw them scan it, saw it ring on the register.  Didnt come up on the bill though.  Actually we didnt notice until we got to the truck.  Take it back in and tell them???? Nope...sorry...maybe its wrong but I didnt.  I have asked many people since what they would have done including 2 Home Depot employees!  NOBODY would have gone back!!!

Sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug.

Take what you can get, they(retailes) get theirs.

They'll just write it and wont care about it..

Only thing that i figured was it went down as an organizer... and she scanned the chair.. ?!?!?  so maybe they should be cracking down on the people behind the counter..  All i know is i bought lottery tickets for tonight.. maybe i ll have similar luck

C'mon, guys.  If two Home Depot employess jumped off a cliff would you?  It doesn't cost that much more to have integrity and sleep well at night, especially when you were prepared to pay for it in the first place.  Markup is irrelevant; you don't have to buy it if you think it's too much.  That doesn't give you the right to steal.

I'd point it out, and if the checker insisted (as in the beer story) I would quickly pay and take it.

We made significant purchases that day (around ?) so we didnt notice until my wife went through the receipt in the truck on the way home.....I didnt believe her because we both saw the cashier ring it....found out later that it wasnt on the receipt.

Great, now the Drill Police are going to come get me.

If they give me back too much change, I'll give it back, even if I have to go back in the store.  If they don't charge me enough or at all for an item I have, I figure it's a sale or reward for being the 238th shopper that day-
