Rubbing sound on left turn during parking

When I pull into a parking spot and I get the wheel almost completely to the left I get a rubbing sound. I don't notice this while turning right. I just did and oil change and noticed a lot of grease around the boot for the pitman arm and wondering if I over did it last time while greasing. It's hard to see if there is any tears in it as there isn't mutch of the boot visible. I don't know if on the passengers side it is also called the pitman arm, but the one to the right of the inner tie rod end (right meaning towards driver side while looking from the front) that looks similar dosen't have any blown grease around it.

Anyone have any ideas? BTW I do have a intermediate steering shaft that needs lube that I haven't done yet if anyone thinks that may be the problem.

Thanks.

I believe you are referencing the idler arm in the above comment.

any evidence of a tire rubbing a fender well on a full left hand turn?

had an alignment done lately?

No alignment done lately and no visable rubbing. I did notice today that the noise does happen sometimes after just starting to turn the wheel left about half a turn or so.

On extreme left turns my passenger side front tire rubs against the stabilizer bar. Turn the wheels to the right and look ahead of the tire. You will also see wear on the inside wall of the passenger side front tire. During backing up you can sometimes hear it catch the plastic inside fender guard.

If your tires & wheels are not OEM that probably your problem. Too large a tire or wheel offset are the culprits.

I was thinking that way too, but then woudln't it make the same noise turning in both directions?
