Need some Help From Someone

My wife and I just bought a 2006 Envoy Denali with the 5.3 DOD. We absolutely love this truck. I have only one complaint.

 

As you are breaking to a stop from 35 or higher and its a slow stop the truck will vibrate ever so slightly as it shifts from either 3-2 or 2-1. You feel it in the steering wheel, on the doorpad or in the shifter, but not the brake pedal. But once it shifts down, it goes away. It leads me to believe its a computer thing but i may be wrong.

 

We took the truck back into the dealer a week after we got it to fix some scratches that they missed and redo the tint job they did. I had them look at this issue of the vibrating. The service writer told me the Tech verified the vibration, but no codes or anything showed up. Then they said they drove a stock one and they said it did it too. So they called it normal.

 

I have a hard time saying that its normal to feel a vibration as it shifts down. Am I missing something? The truck has all of 500 miles on it, and it shouldn't be vibrating like this.

I wonder if your DOD (dead on demand ) system has something to do with this?

lots of people on the chrysler sites have been having the exact same complaint with the DOD hemi's feels like Torque Converter shudder when the cylinders shut down, or re-engage. also can feel a little shudder under low-level acceleration. some are getting pretty sick of it, and in gerneral it seems to be getting fairly poorly recieved.

 

I think that the DOD systems are all this way (although I have never driven one or seen one) however, based on how they are supposed to work, not all the cylinders are going to ignite perfectly every time the DOD kicks in, so these systems will always be plauged with some engine imbalance similar akin to a misfire as the cylinders cyle from non-operative to active state. kinda the same thing like when you start the car, just a couple of rotations to get enerything going smoothly.
