Stumped on a gas and possible battery prob

We have a GMC 1500 serria 2002

 

4.8 engine

 

a week ago coming back from the auction on I 4 the engine just Died .

we got a jump made it a litlle further and then wham dies again :-(

 

we had to get it towed to the gas station .

there we got a jump and the engine turned over but acted like it was'nt

getting gas and the battery was drained again

 

 

since then we fully charged the battery and so we have been trying to crank it pumping the heck out of the gas

 

it finally crankeed and woulld idle till "the gas in carb/jets was gone" and tonight we cranked it checked to see if the lights were dim at idle and brighter at a rev

 

nope they stayed the same and was able to drive it from back of house to the front if it could be a filter where is it located?

 

 

any ideas?

Check the alternator voltage just to be sure. How old is the battery?

well not sure how old that bat is

would that cause no gas to be pumped even after it was charged? we thought

it could be but it doesn't explain the gas problem is

there a module or something that does the "brain"

part of the truck ?

You must start with a goodfully charged battery since the PCM controls everything related to engine controls. Get battery checked and fully charged. Slow charge 8 hours. If you still have starting problems check fuel pressure.

BTW there havent been carb/jets on GM trucks since 1986 its all fuel injection now.

The fuel pump needs electricity, if there isn't enough, no fuel...

we did let it charge that long :-(

Ever wonder how pumping the heck out of the gas on a Fuel Injected vehicle would help?

 

I got an idea..... its not all that original but its still an idea.

 

get professional help.
