2003 rebates?

I think i am gonna hold off and wait for a 2003 sierra primarily because of some improvements on brakes, sound system, and the new marine blue!  Would anyone have any idea on when gm will offer there traditional $2000 rebate incentive once the 2003's really hit the streets??? thanks for any input.

IMO, for 2003 models will probably be around December if inventories of 2003 are up.  There is suppose to be a whole lot of 2002's (all types of cars and trucks) to get rid of.  The last of the 2002 production runs should have finished in May/June for June/July retool and 2003 July production to start.  Those times have been the tradition, but nothing set in stone.

 

In general for a particular model/year to hold value, you don't want rebates.  All of the used 2002 models are already at wholesale less than $2K under the 2001 models of similar equipment and mileage.  So a good rule of thumb especially if you are financing is to put the same amount for money down as the rebates so your loan and insurance will never be upside down to the market value
