454 by "Teckendowa" ???

I dont know if it is just me being stupid or not. I recently purchased a 92 3500 dually with a 454. I cleaned the engine compartment last weekend and noticed the valve covers say "454 by Teckendowa" on them. Is this normal? I have been a chevy nut for my entire life and have never heard of this. I am new to 454's so it might just be me. Thanks for your help.

I am pretty sure my decals on my 1971 C 10 350 say the same thing. If I am not mistaken, it is the name of the location of one of their engine plants. I did not realize they still put this on the decals as late as 92.

It should say "454 by Tonawanda", which is the engine plant in Tonawanda, New York. They've built just about every Chevy motor that's ever existed.

Yes i live about 45 minutes from the Tonawanda Engine Plant. One of the great job places in Buffalo NY...where chicken wings, tailgating, and football are kings.
