New truck tailights falling off/poor delivery

My 5 day old 06 Chevy D/Max has been back to the dealer twice, so far. First I found that the hub covers were all loose and about to fall off, so much for the dealer prep they want to charge us for! Then while installing a bed topper I noticed that the tail lights were loose to the point where I could have pulled them right off. The service dept. said they had repaired about 500 of them (probably exagerated) so far but I never read about any instances here. Apparently they were over torqued at the factory and the plastic ears that hold them on fracture. So they knew about this and never checked at pre-delivery. I guess they can't get warranty money that way.

When I picked up my truck my salesman had left for the day and handed me off to another to complete the delivery. The replacement salesman handed me the keys and said thank you, have a nice day. The truck had a large chip on the right rear fender flare and had not been prepped other than tire black. The next day I called the sales manager and told him of my experience. He never appoligized for the poor treatment just told me to bring it back for a clean up. While finalizing the deal the F & I person at Autoway Chevrolet in Clearwater, FL told me that I would be contacted to answer survey questions about my sales experience and that it was very important that they received all "very happy" responses. Boy I can't wait for the survey!

Other than that, so far, I just love this truck.

Went out one day and the tail light had fallen out, looks like the screws were tightend to tight

dealer said its becoming common

but to top it off it took me a week to get a new tail light

Send one negative....and they will STOP! :banghead:

I never fill out a survey unless there's a place to write in what I really think! Otherwise I'm just giving them data to manipulate and misrepresent.

NEVER buy from them. Use Maher Chevrolet in St. Petersburg. For service, see Steve Kalinsky and no one else. Tell him you want Eric to work on your truck. For sales, see Matt Berry and no one else. Tell them Todd Robbins sent you. I am not anyone important there, but they know me well and take very good care of me, so they should treat you the same.

Autoway (formerly Quinlan) is VERY high pressure. I will not deal with them at all!!!
