Hellwig rear sway bar 2000 Silverado

Hi all!

I just got my Hellwig rear sway bar in the mail for my 2000 Silverado I ordered from Summit racing. I was going to put it in tonight, but the instructions were photocopied and barely readable. When I went to call the 1-800 number, they had been disconnected and the service wanted $5.95 to connect me. Thank god for google. I called the updated number I found on Google for Hellwig and after getting disconnected once and then leaving a voice mail, I called again and got the tech. He emailed me the installation instructions, which were a little clearer than what I had received in the package, but still not very well written (misspellings, vague drawings and parts list etc.). Then I discovered I'm missing 2 bolts too!

I'M NOT A SATISFIED CUSTOMER!

I suppose I'll go to the hardware store tomorrow and get bolts, instead of waiting for the mail, so I can get this thing installed, but man I'm still crabby.

Sadly, customer service is a thing of the past in most cases. Bottom line, they got your credit card number, charged you for the part and they are moving on to the next one. I think somewhere along the line, they forgot about "satisfied customers" and "repeat business".

Well, after going to Lowe's for some hardware, I got my 1.25" Hellwig rear sway bar installed on my 2000 ECSB 4x4. The install wasn't so difficult. I took it for a test drive and must say I am impressed with the difference in cornering.

Next time I get some spending cash, I'll put a Hellwig front bar on too.

You say the install wasn't to bad, what did you use to put those lock nuts on a rachet or impact, I did the first set with a rachet and my shoulders are killing me I said heck with the second set until I find a impact wrench. I was missing the two bolts also,I guess the guy packing the box of parts couldn't read the packing list. You are right handling is much improved.

I had a hell of a time with the nuts too, so I bought new ones at Lowe's and got some lockwashers to go with them. I used those on the "U" fittings, and the hellwig nuts for everything else, since they didn't have to go on too far. I don't have an impact wrench, but I can't see how you could get those stock nuts on without one!
