I guess I am too picky but in my quest to locate a 2005 or 2006 White Z71 4x4, I have come up empty. Lots of black, which is the one color i won't buy, but few whites. Oh well, i'll keep looking and one will show up at the right price/miles, color, etc.

I looked at a decent 2007 4x4 w/ 3k miles for $39k. Nice vehicle, but i'm not spending $39k, especially with black interior.

Just buy a regular truck and throw a set of bilsteins and a Z-71 sticker on it.

$39,000...d**n! Just gotta talk them down. Just tell them what price you are willing to pay, and if they take it they take it, if no they'll call you down the road cause they cant sell it, or someone else will buy it.

The dealer wanted 19 or so for my truck. I said 15 tax and title or no deal, they said sorry we cant go that low. A week or so later they called me and I had a new truck! That didnt work when I was trying to get a Rumble bee, but Im glad I didnt get it anyways.

Just gotta keep looking I guess, It took me a while to stumble across my truck.

I love it. Keep searching for that Z71 sticker. All you get for that extra money are shocks and a sticker. The rest of the truck is the same. Same engine, transmission, transfer case, etc. My truck is a NON Z71, besides the sticker you can't tell the difference. My truck has the RPO code Z85, heavy duty suspension or some other marketing gimic. I wonder if I can get a Z85 sticker. Way to buy into corporate marketing. It may be easier to locate a truck, buy the Z71 sticker from the parts dept and have them install it as part of dealer prep.

I'd be more interested in getting the right truck instead of the right sticker. Make sure your white Z71 has all the options you want or really need instead of a marketing sticker. What I mean is, does it have the G80, trailering package, etc. Just my .02, as usual I could be wrong.

Don't worry, you will find the right truck. I spent 6 months looking a trucks, before I bought the one I have now. I was picky and knew what I wanted. I can't tell you how many trucks I looked at and test drove. Then one day, I found my truck in auto trader and bought it the same day. So, keep looking and don't accept anything less than what you want. The only thing I had to compromise on was the color, you can't be too picky about color when looking at older trucks. There aren't many out there in good shape, so I didn't mind getting a black truck. Good luck and keep us updated.

When I went looking for my 06, I was the same way I wouldn't even look at a black truck......but I ended up buying one anyways lol. At first I really wasn't sure about it, because it seemed always dirty. But now I'm glad I got it, black is very sharp looking and when it is clean, which is all the time, nothing shines like black.

When I was lokking for my 04' I had my mind set on a White one and a Silver Birch which was a new colour for 2004. I wasn't considering black. It was December and the dealership just got a new Silver Birch in and I was impressed. They also had a 2003 black one sitting on the lot - as soon as I saw it I knew black was the colour. I had them find me a black ECSB Z71 - I picked it two days later. It was the best xmas present I have ever gotten for myself LOL

I keep it waxed and even when it is dirty it still has a shine to it. And nothing looks meaner than a big black truck.

Interesting points on the black. It is certainly a favorite. In my case, i don't wash my vehicle. I use it off road in harsh conditions every weekend, so it isn't worth washing it.

Regarding those that said buy the Z71 stickers and forget the marketing, I would strongly disagree. You may not have realized i am talking about the tahoe Z71, but in my opinion, it is more than stickers. The truck definately looks better. I woud not purchase a non z71 Tahoe. Reg tahoes are a dime a dozen, the z71 looks better and is more unique.
